Chef Sam Kim Gains Young Fans After Netflix Show Appearance
On the September 29th episode of KBS 2TV's '2 Days & 1 Night', Sam Kim and Chef Jung Ho-young joined as guests for a trip to Mokpo, South Jeolla Province.
This marks Sam Kim's third appearance on the show, returning after nine years since 2018. Reflecting on his return, he shared, "Back then, I was just working, so this feels different."
Initially, Sam Kim declined the invitation but was persuaded by his close friend Jung Ho-young to participate. When comedian Moon Se-yoon asked if there was anyone he was uncomfortable with, Sam Kim explained, "It's not that, it's just that the restaurant work keeps me busy."
Following the release of 'Black and White Chef 2', reservations at Sam Kim's restaurant are fully booked for the next six months.
Teaming up with Kim Jong-min and Moon Se-yoon, Sam Kim noted an increase in young fans after the show. He commented, "I think it's because I'm portrayed as a character who gets teased."
After being eliminated, he mentioned his son as the person who teased him the most. Sam Kim shared an anecdote where, while watching the show with his son, Jung Ho-young appeared, and his son remarked, "That's the guy who beat you, Dad."
Moon Se-yoon joked, "Today, there's pressure because if you lose on 'Black and White Chef', it's over, but here, if we lose, we don't eat. If we lose today, it's all on you, Chef." Kim Jong-min added, "I hope you give it your best."
