Kwon Sang-woo and Son Tae-young Address Rumors About Son's Entertainment Debut

Celebrity couple Kwon Sang-woo and Son Tae-young have spoken out about rumors regarding their son Rook Hee's potential debut in the entertainment industry.

On the 28th, the YouTube channel 'Mrs. New Jersey Son Tae-young' released a video titled 'Son Tae-young & Kwon Sang-woo's First Confession About Revealing Son Rook Hee's Face (Please Look Kindly)'.

In the video, Son Tae-young mentioned the recent buzz surrounding her son Rook Hee's photo, saying, "People say he looks a lot like his dad. There's even a saying 'Kwon Sang-woo gave birth to Kwon Sang-woo,' and many have complimented him. Rook Hee liked it too."

The couple dismissed interpretations that the photo release was a step towards an entertainment debut. Son Tae-young explained, "Rook Hee is now 17 years old and at an age where he should pursue what he wants. We don't think it's right to tell him 'Don't post dad's photo' or 'Don't post mom's photo'."

She continued, "There are comments suggesting we revealed his photo to push him into showbiz. But it's not like saying 'Please let him debut' would make it happen, and we have no interest in that." Kwon Sang-woo added, "We have no interest and don't even know what it entails."

Son Tae-young firmly stated, "Our child, as we see it, doesn't have the knack for it. And he doesn't want it either." The couple reiterated, "We do not wish for our son to debut as an entertainer."

Regarding the attention on his son's looks, Kwon Sang-woo humorously remarked, "His head is a bit smaller, and his arms and legs are a bit longer than mine," but added, "Still, I think my face is better," bringing laughter. Son Tae-young playfully retorted, "Why, I'm mixed in there too," showcasing their couple dynamic.

Rook Hee's true passion lies in soccer. Son Tae-young shared, "He loves soccer. Not that he wants to become a soccer player, but it's his hobby, and he's very passionate about it," adding, "Experiencing achievement through sports seems to have helped him navigate adolescence healthily."

On their parenting philosophy, Son Tae-young said, "We just guide him a little, but today's kids don't just listen because you tell them to." Kwon Sang-woo emphasized, "Like all parents, the most important thing is for him to grow up healthy and uninjured."

Son Tae-young expressed her hopes, "Whether Rook Hee posts photos or not, I hope he enjoys socializing with friends on social media and does well in his endeavors."
