Kim Sook's Ambitious Renovation Begins on 'Unpredictable [Home]'

Kim Sook has finally broken ground on her long-awaited project.

The third episode of tvN's 'Unpredictable [Home]' aired on the 27th, showcasing the ambitious first day of construction at the 220-pyeong Sook House and the unexpected events that unfolded for the Sook family. The episode recorded a viewership rating of 2.4%, a 0.3% point drop from the previous week.

Kim Sook, along with business expert Song Eun-i, attended a crucial meeting with the construction company. Filled with anticipation, they were relieved to receive a positive response. The members then joined national heritage repair specialists as apprentices, assisting with simple tasks.

With the first day of construction set, Kim Sook, Lee Chun-hee, and Baekga arrived in Jeju Island the day before. Unlike their first visit, the neatly arranged trees in the yard of the Jeju house sparked happy imaginations and positive vibes. However, Jang Woo-young, who arrived later, had an unexpected reaction to the state of Sook House, eliciting laughter from the members.

Before the construction began, the four enjoyed their time in Jeju. On the day of construction, despite the ominous weather, Kim Sook personally prepared a 'work glove cake' and various ceremonial foods for a groundbreaking ceremony. She showcased her wit with a clever acrostic poem and led a group shovel performance to wish for a successful construction.

The first task, thatching the roof, commenced with Kim Sook and Baekga handling the straw. Faced with an overwhelming 400 bundles of straw, they struggled to move even 100 bundles. Meanwhile, Lee Chun-hee and Jang Woo-young, tasked with rafter work, were daunted by the prospect of processing 50 pieces of wood, each taking 40 minutes.

Exhausted from the endless straw work, Kim Sook decided to enlist the 'carpentry team' of Lee Chun-hee and Jang Woo-young for help. However, when they failed to respond, she went to the workshop herself. Finding them on a break, Lee Chun-hee and Jang Woo-young expressed their frustration at the misunderstanding, but Kim Sook, still upset, brought them to the straw work site.

Upon arrival, they were greeted by a hailstorm, leading to a playful snowball fight among the members. Despite their bickering, the four continued working diligently, sharing jokes and taking group photos, showcasing their unique chemistry.

After a grueling first day, the Sook family returned to their lodging under the cover of darkness, finally enjoying a well-deserved dinner after 11 hours. Jang Woo-young, tasked with both dinner and dishwashing duties, ended his exhausting day on a challenging note.
