SBS Drama 'Shin & Law Office' Delivers Shocking Twist with Yu Yeon-seok's Arrest
SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Shin & Law Office' captivated viewers with a shocking ending as Yu Yeon-seok's character is arrested for murder after embodying the anger and injustice of a deceased client.

In the episode aired on the 27th, the drama (directed by Shin Jung-hoon, written by Kim Ga-young & Kang Chul-kyu) showcased the tumultuous truth-seeking journey of Shin Yi-rang (played by Yu Yeon-seok), who takes on the case of a genius biologist, Jeon Sang-ho (played by Yoon Na-moo), murdered by his wife.

The episode achieved a viewership rating of 9.0% in the metropolitan area and 8.7% nationwide, with a peak of 10.3%. It ranked first in its time slot and was the top-rated program on Friday. The 2049 target audience rating was 2.3%, peaking at 3.02%, proving its popularity.

A unique ghost approached Shin Yi-rang, who had awakened as a 'ghost-specialist lawyer.' The ghost, denying his death with physics, possessed Shin and scribbled equations on a chalkboard. Shocked, his brother-in-law Yoon Bong-soo (played by Jeon Seok-ho) discovered that the ghost was Jeon Sang-ho, a three-time 'Scientist of the Year' awardee. In his regained memory, the murderer was his wife, Kim Soo-jung (played by Jung Ga-hee). However, Jeon did not want his wife punished, blaming himself for neglecting her postpartum depression and childcare struggles.

Meanwhile, Han Na-hyun (played by Lee Som) took on Kim Soo-jung's defense. Accused of murdering her husband, Kim was acquitted in the first trial due to lack of evidence. She admitted to arguing with her husband but denied killing him. However, the atmosphere shifted in the retrial when new evidence emerged. Blood found on a shower curtain and carpet suggested a co-conspirator, as the blood spatter analysis indicated the perpetrator was over 170cm tall. Kim's nervous behavior and her forced confession of acting alone raised suspicions.

Han Na-hyun suspected Kim's false confession was to protect someone and began investigating. She learned from Goo Hyo-jung (played by Um Jun-ki), a lab employee and Kim's old friend, that Kim's father, Kim Tae-joon (played by Kim Hong-pa), had orchestrated her marriage to Jeon for his wife's rare disease treatment. Jeon's sudden halt in research led to conflicts with his father-in-law, and Goo claimed Kim took the fall for her father.

Han Na-hyun discovered more. Before the appeal trial, Shin Yi-rang told her that Jeon was indeed killed by his wife in the bathroom, information unknown to Han. Shin claimed Jeon's ghost revealed this, shocking Han. He suggested comparing the handwriting on the chalkboard with Jeon's, which Han confirmed at the lab, leaving her stunned.

Meanwhile, Shin Yi-rang, suspecting Jeon's parents visited a shaman to find their son's body, traced the disposal site. Based on Jeon's memories, he identified a secluded area behind the lab, where traces of a body being moved were found. Realizing his wife couldn't have moved the body alone, Jeon's suspicion turned to his father-in-law. As Shin, synchronized with Jeon's agitation, lost control, he headed to Kim Tae-joon's house in a rage.

In a tense confrontation, Shin, possessed by Jeon's fury, violently threatened Kim Tae-joon. Just as the situation neared a point of no return, Shin's mother, Park Kyung-hwa (played by Kim Mi-kyung), intervened, stopping the tragedy. As the rain fell, Shin regained composure, but the police arrived, arresting him for murder after finding his fingerprints on gloves near the body disposal site. This shocking twist left viewers eager for the next episode.

SBS's 'Shin & Law Office' episode 6 airs on Saturday at 9:50 PM.
