EXO's Kai Returns with Enhanced Variety Skills in 'The Transfer Student' Season 8

EXO's Kai is set to return with heightened variety skills in the eighth season of 'The Transfer Student'.

'The Transfer Student' will premiere its eighth season on the 26th, coinciding with the start of the 2026 academic year. The show is a content series that reviews various university departments across the country. Following the footsteps of the 'first transfer student' Lee Chang-seop, Kai, as the 'second transfer student', is actively expanding the show's universe, garnering consistent support and love from the Gen-Z audience.

In the first episode of season 8, Kai transfers to the Department of Business Secretary at Inha Technical College. He teases a rivalry with fellow member Suho, who previously filled in for him as a 'substitute transfer student' during his schedule gap. Sporting a perfect suit fit similar to Suho's, Kai creates a subtle tension and declares, “I will show a different energy than Suho hyung,” as he heads to school.

On this day, Kai surprises everyone by revealing, “I learned the true meaning of my stage name 'Kai' for the first time on TV after 16 years since debut.” During a secretary office practice, he transforms into 'Manager Kai', receiving reports from students in a role-play that evokes laughter with its drama-like immersion. On campus, he unexpectedly meets a 'real EXO fan' freshman and conducts an impromptu interview with World Cup-level excitement, creating natural banter with the students.

In the 'Secretary Practice' class, Kai experiences phone etiquette and AI-assisted document writing, maintaining a lively atmosphere. In an impromptu phone etiquette role-play, he sharply points out, “It was wrong from the start,” earning the professor's admiration. He adds, “Phone etiquette is harder than it seems. The world doesn't work that easily,” sharing relatable experiences.

Kai also challenges himself with a presentation on 'Idol-Based Content Production Analysis' using AI in a document writing class. He plans to reveal trend analyses from an active idol's perspective and his self-designed future vision, raising expectations.
