TV Personality Seo Jang-hoon Offers Tough Love Advice to Troubled Teen on 'Ask Anything'

TV personality Seo Jang-hoon offered some tough love advice.

On the 357th episode of KBS Joy's 'Ask Anything', which aired on the 23rd, a 17-year-old high school girl who had been sent to a juvenile detention center three times sought advice on how to turn her life around.

The young guest revealed that she began running away from home in her first year of middle school, skipping school, and engaging in activities like drinking and smoking. Her repeated absences led to her being sent to a juvenile detention center.

At the age of 15, she received a 9th-degree disposition twice in the same year and continued to run away, eventually receiving a 10th-degree disposition, resulting in a 1-year and 3-month stay in detention. Despite having a good relationship with her parents, she explained that she ran away simply because she enjoyed spending time with friends.

Fortunately, the young woman has since passed her high school equivalency exam and is preparing to enter a nursing program. Seo Jang-hoon commented, "It's a relief in the midst of misfortune," but emphasized, "What happens from now on is more important." He added, "Everyone wants to have fun, but they live by holding back," warning that if she continues to stray, her life could become miserable.

He further advised, "You need to work harder to make up for the wasted time," urging her to focus on her studies and become a good nurse. Lee Soo-geun also encouraged her, saying, "Don't waste time going out; study hard and earn scholarships."

Finally, Seo Jang-hoon advised her to "reflect on past mistakes and apologize to your parents." The young woman turned to the camera and promised, "I'm sorry for just saying I've changed; I'll show it through my actions. I love you," pledging to show her parents her transformation.
