Tensions Rise in 'Your Glorious Season' as Sun Woo-chan's Lie is on the Verge of Being Exposed
In the 8th episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Your Glorious Season' (directed by Jeong Sang-hee, Kim Young-jae / written by Jo Sung-hee), aired on the 20th, Sun Woo-chan (played by Chae Jong-hyeop) and Song Ha-ran (played by Lee Sung-kyung) finally become a couple at the end of their mutual salvation journey. However, the unexpected truth surrounding a lost fountain pen raises the tension to its peak.
The episode began with a tearful kiss confirming the feelings between Sun Woo-chan and Song Ha-ran. Sun Woo-chan decided to embrace his current emotions, while Song Ha-ran cautiously advised him to move forward with the time that flows from now, leaving the past behind.
Encouraged by Song Ha-ran's words, Sun Woo-chan set out to find his father, Sun Woo-seok (played by Jung Hae-kyun), whom he had long ignored. Discovering traces of childhood memories and his father's sincerity, he was overwhelmed with complex emotions. The two met at Daejeon Station, exchanged feelings through a watch, and took the first cautious step towards reconciliation after a long-standing conflict.
The relationship between Song Ha-ran and Sun Woo-chan also grew stronger. Sun Woo-chan returned the fountain pen Song Ha-ran lost at a restaurant, expressing his wish for it to remain as 'the pen found by Sun Woo-chan' rather than a memory of the past. Song Ha-ran hesitated but accepted it after Sun Woo-chan added a drawing to the pen, giving it new meaning. The moment was further heightened by Song Ha-ran's news of winning the Best Designer Award.
At the fashion awards ceremony, Song Ha-ran reunited with Kang Eun-chan (played by Han Jae-i), her ex-boyfriend's sister and former boss, bringing new truths to light. Song Ha-ran was shocked to learn for the first time that Kang Hyuk-chan (played by Kwon Do-hyung) had been severely injured in a lab accident and underwent nerve surgery. Meanwhile, Sun Woo-chan, visiting the hospital with Park Man-jae (played by Kang Seok-woo), grew closer to Cha Soo-jin (played by Lee Joo-yeon), the owner of the bracelet sound that had haunted him. He followed a woman in a doctor's coat after hearing the bracelet sound in an elevator, discovering she was Cha Soo-jin, visiting from Boston, intensifying the mystery.
Elsewhere, the emotional dynamics between Song Ha-young and Yeon Tae-seok (played by Kwon Hyuk) were also in turmoil. Song Ha-young realized her feelings for Yeon Tae-seok and attended a new material meeting with him. However, when Tae-seok's college junior showed interest in Song Ha-young, Tae-seok stepped back calmly. Confused by Tae-seok's kindness, Song Ha-young visited his home under the pretense of delivering mail, only to find him collapsed with a high fever. Yeon Tae-seok fell into Song Ha-young's arms, marking a turning point in their romance.
The love line between Song Ha-dam (played by Oh Ye-ju) and Cha Yoo-gyeom (played by Kim Tae-young) also reconnected. Song Ha-dam, meeting Cha Yoo-gyeom's mother by chance, felt the warmth of a mother she had longed for and burst into tears. Reuniting with Cha Yoo-gyeom, they resolved their misunderstandings and reconciled with tears. Despite confirming their love in a family-like warmth, Cha Yoo-gyeom's bruised foot and subsequent collapse added anxiety to the viewers.
Towards the end of the episode, Song Ha-ran received a call from an unknown number, leading to confusion, and she called Sun Woo-chan. She revealed two identical fountain pens engraved with her name, stating, "The restaurant contacted me." The pen Sun Woo-chan returned was not the one he found by chance but one he newly acquired from the U.S. Sun Woo-chan's lie for Song Ha-ran was on the verge of being exposed. Faced with Song Ha-ran's cold gaze demanding an explanation, Sun Woo-chan was engulfed in a piercing tinnitus, leaving a rift between them and setting up an anxious ending, making viewers anticipate the 9th episode.
Meanwhile, the 9th episode of MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Your Glorious Season' will air on the 21st at 9:50 PM.
