Comedian Heo Anna Revealed as a Rare KBS Special Recruit
On the October 17th episode of SBS's 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny', Heo Anna and her husband Oh Kyung-joo appeared and shared various stories.
During the show, Heo Anna disclosed that she was a special recruit comedian at KBS. Notable figures like Im Ha-ryong, Song Eun-i, Jo Hye-ryun, Lee Soo-geun, and Ji Seok-jin are also from the KBS special recruitment. Kim Sook expressed her surprise, saying, "Getting into KBS as a special recruit is not something just anyone can do."
Kim Sook further explained, "Unlike open recruitment, special recruitment is selected by the authority of the officials, and it's almost non-existent at KBS. They pick someone only when they are exceptionally outstanding."
Heo Anna also revealed that her husband, Oh Kyung-joo, was once a comedian. Oh Kyung-joo shared, "I was in comedy programs like 'Gagya', 'Laughter Brings Blessings', and 'Hatangsa', but now I run a store."
However, Oh Kyung-joo has since left the comedy path and is now running a pub. He explained, "I was contemplating what to do after quitting comedy. There was a sashimi place I frequented, and it was so appealing that I asked the owner if I could learn cooking. Initially, he refused, but eventually, he accepted me as an apprentice, and that's how I started my business."
Oh Kyung-joo responded with a smile, "I believe things will get better through word of mouth. Marketing doesn't suit my personality." Heo Anna sighed, "He's someone who doesn't fit this era. He believes 'everything will be fine.'"
Meanwhile, Heo Anna faced emotional distress after losing her job due to the cancellation of the variety show 'I'm Excited', which was affected by Park Na-rae's controversy and hiatus in late 2025.
