KCM Joins 'Duet Across the Sea' Amid Personal and Professional Challenges
Singer KCM reveals his reasons for joining 'Duet Across the Sea.' Recently, KCM introduced his wife and two daughters to the public for the first time in 13 years. He welcomed his first daughter in 2012 and registered his marriage with his wife, who is nine years younger, in 2021. Since then, they have welcomed a second daughter and a son.

On KBS 2TV's 'Duet Across the Sea,' KCM collaborates with Vietnam's 'MZ President' and artist couple, Mintok & Lam, to create an original song. They are tasked with releasing a self-composed song within 100 hours. Mintok & Lam presented a prepared song to KCM, who suggested making it more mainstream for broader appeal. However, Mintok & Lam, known for their signature jazz style, disagreed with KCM's proposed chord progression, leading to a tense atmosphere and a temporary halt in collaboration.

Despite the initial setback, KCM returned to the keyboard, experimenting and immersing himself in the music-making process. His dedication stems from a personal struggle; upon arriving in Vietnam, KCM confessed, "It's been about 4-5 years since my vocal cords changed. I can't perform like I used to, and it stressed me out to the point where I couldn't sing. Even when music shows invited me, I was too scared to accept."

To a surprised Mickey Kwangsoo and Jo Maeryeok, KCM explained, "I needed a turning point as a singer and wanted to regain my confidence. I felt that if I didn't take this chance now, I might never do it." For KCM, 'Duet Across the Sea' represents a crucial opportunity, possibly his last, to succeed. He prepared diligently and sought a positive outcome despite the clash with Mintok & Lam.

Observing KCM's determination from outside the practice room, Lam reflected deeply, expressing concern, "KCM seems to be struggling. I worry he might feel uncomfortable or hurt. Are we being selfish by insisting on our style?"

Catch 'Duet Across the Sea' on KBS 2TV at 9:50 PM on the 19th to see how the story unfolds.
