Lee Soo-kyung Takes on First Role as a Mother of Three in 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri'
The new KBS 2TV mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri', set to premiere on Thursday, March 26 at 9:50 PM, is a heartwarming family reboot drama. It follows the urban family of Seong Tae-hoon as they struggle to return to Seoul from the rural area of 'Yeonliri'.
Renowned actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung, who previously worked together on KBS's 'Dog Sound', reunite as a couple in this series, promising upgraded chemistry.
In the drama, Lee Soo-kyung plays Jo Mi-ryeo, a 'super mom' who raises three sons alone while her husband is tied to his job. Entering Yeonliri with no farming knowledge or rural living experience, Jo Mi-ryeo faces unexpected challenges as she and her family adapt to rural life.
Lee Soo-kyung highlighted Jo Mi-ryeo's keywords as 'tough mom', 'son-loving', and 'passionate mom'. She admitted to having many concerns about playing a mother of three for the first time. However, she grew close to the actors playing her sons during filming, and they began to follow her like a real mom, which made her naturally take care of them.
Lee Soo-kyung noted her character's outgoing and bright personality is similar to her own. She also spoke about her chemistry with co-stars Park Sung-woong and Lee Jin-woo, expressing her delight at reuniting with Park Sung-woong after 'Dog Sound'. Despite the different storyline and characters, their chemistry was excellent, and the set atmosphere was always harmonious. She expressed hope that 'Simu-myeon Yeonliri' could continue as a series.
Finally, Lee Soo-kyung encouraged viewers to watch the unique characters blend harmoniously. She pointed out that while city life often involves people wearing similar clothes and not knowing their neighbors, Yeonliri showcases individuality and community. She urged viewers to tune in to see what unfolds in Yeonliri.
