Lee Soo-hyuk Brings Fantasy to Life in Netflix's 'Monthly Boyfriend'
In the recently released Netflix series 'Monthly Boyfriend,' actor Lee Soo-hyuk captivates audiences with his unparalleled visuals and presence. 'Monthly Boyfriend' is a romantic comedy where Mi-rae, a webtoon PD played by BLACKPINK's Jisoo, subscribes to and experiences virtual dating through a simulation to escape her mundane life.
Lee Soo-hyuk makes a special appearance as Choi Si-woo, a virtual boyfriend in the monthly subscription dating service 'Monthly Boyfriend' launched by Korea's top gaming company DU. Choi Si-woo, a third-generation chaebol and the ultimate visual icon, is a popular webtoon character who comes to life in 'Monthly Boyfriend' to meet Mi-rae.
Director Kim Jung-sik of 'Monthly Boyfriend' revealed at the production presentation, “I wanted someone who looked like AI, someone who seemed to have come out of a comic book, and Lee Soo-hyuk was the perfect fit.” Bringing the director's imagination to life, Lee Soo-hyuk created an iconic character that would have been impossible without him.
Previously, Lee Soo-hyuk left a strong impression in the Wave original drama 'S Line,' capturing the attention of viewers both domestically and internationally.
