Actor and Painter Park Shin-yang Shares Heartfelt Thoughts on Relationship with 22-Year-Old Daughter
On the latest episode of MBN's 'Kim Joo-ha's Day and Night,' actor-turned-painter Park Shin-yang opened up about his relationship with his 22-year-old daughter.

During the October 14th broadcast, Park Shin-yang candidly shared, "If my parents suddenly started painting, I would have found it strange too. Even now, I can't quite explain the feeling." Initially, his daughter struggled to understand his new passion for painting.

However, about 5 to 7 years ago, his daughter encouraged him by giving him photos of a turtle and a horse, saying, 'Try drawing these.' Park expressed, "I was really happy then. It felt like she was trying to understand me, even if she didn't fully get it."

Park Shin-yang also revealed two paintings titled 'To My Amy.' The panelists praised the paintings, commenting, "The horse feels so alive." When asked about his daughter's reaction, Park humorously admitted, "She's always so nonchalant. Just a 'hmm' and that's it."

He also shared a childhood memory of his daughter on set. "When she was little, I took her to a filming location where I was being dragged away by gangsters. She cried, 'They're taking my dad!'" he recalled, bringing laughter to the audience. He added that she once remarked, 'That's my dad,' when an actress in a scene called him 'dad.'

Park described their relationship as more like friends, saying, "We play ice hockey, soccer, and basketball together. We even go on trips, just the two of us. I'm not sure if she enjoys it or if she just goes because I ask, but it makes me happy." He mentioned a recent trip they took to Geoje Island.

When asked what kind of father he thinks he is, Park reflected, "I might be deluding myself, thinking I'm a pretty good dad and someone she can talk to about anything. But who knows if that's really the case?"
