MBN's 'K-Bakery Survival' Heats Up with Dramatic Comebacks and Intense Showdowns
'K-Bakery Survival' is the first-ever Korean bakery competition show aiming to find the world's best pastry chef, riding the wave of the 'K-Bread' trend. The show started with a 2.0% viewership rating and peaked at 2.3% in its second episode. However, ratings have since dropped, hitting a series low of 1.2% in the latest episode.
In the upcoming 7th episode, airing on Sunday at 9:50 PM, the 'Revival Round' will determine which two contestants will advance to the semifinals. This round features a '30-Minute No-Oven Baking' challenge, where contestants must create a dish using only ingredients from the refrigerator within a 30-minute time limit, without an oven. The tension is high as viewers eagerly await to see who will secure a spot in the semifinals.
Judge Kwon Sung-joon, known for his strict evaluations, praises one contestant's bread, saying, "It's hard to imagine a better result for this mission." The identity of the contestant who unanimously passes the 'Revival Round' remains a mystery.
The episode will also reveal the outcome of the '1-on-1 Death Match' between Lee Kyung-moo and Cho Sang-min, who have been at odds. Lee, who claimed, "The chefs are more hype than substance," and Cho, who retorted, "You should go gently," faced off with desserts themed 'Monica's Transformation'. Lee presented a pie with tiger-like patterns reminiscent of 'K-Pop Demon Hunters', while Cho showcased a hotel-quality dessert with intricate 'Ppas' resembling colorful threads.
During judging, Lee faced criticism from Master Lee Seok-won, who remarked, "It seems worse than lacking," raising tension. The impact of this critique on the results and the outcome of the 'Monica's Transformation' battle between Lee and Cho remains to be seen.
