Actress Kim Hee-ae Narrates Heartfelt Journey in 'Sacred Relics' Documentary

Actress Kim Hee-ae lends her voice as the narrator for the fourth episode, 'Heart,' of the documentary 'Sacred Relics,' which explores the aftermath of the Itaewon tragedy.

Airing on the 12th, the KBS special project 'Sacred Relics' (produced by Kim Dong-il, Lee Song-eun, Kim Eun-gon) presents the poignant story of a couple who lost their daughter in an unexpected accident in 2022. In their quiet Seoul home, the clinking of dishes is the only sound at the breakfast table. Silence prevails over words for this couple, who lost their daughter, Lee Sang-eun, in the Itaewon tragedy. Her room, filled with photographs, remains untouched, as if time has stood still since her departure. The couple continues to live, tracing the remnants of their daughter's presence.

In their overwhelming grief and resentment towards the world, a Catholic priest, whom they had never met, reached out to them. Father Shin Young-chul from Yeongam, Jeollanam-do, began praying for the couple daily after learning about their story by chance. It was the first gesture of solidarity that reached the couple, isolated in their sorrow. Determined to honor their daughter's memory, the couple decided to fulfill her unachieved dreams. 'Sacred Relics' accompanies them on this journey to keep their daughter's dreams alive.

The fourth episode, 'Heart,' of 'Sacred Relics' airs at 10 PM.
