'I'll Give You the Universe' Struggles with Low Ratings as Finale Approaches

As 'I'll Give You the Universe' nears its finale with just one episode left, the show has struggled to break free from its 1% viewership ratings, leaving a sense of disappointment.

In the 11th episode of tvN's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'I'll Give You the Universe,' aired on the 11th, Seon Tae-hyung (played by Bae In-hyuk) and Woo Hyun-jin (played by Noh Jung-ui) officially entered a romantic relationship. The transition from in-laws to lovers between the two characters brought excitement to viewers. The episode recorded a 1.7% viewership rating, maintaining the 1% range since the first episode.

In this episode, Seon Tae-hyung and Woo Hyun-jin confirmed their feelings for each other once again. Seon Tae-hyung's heartfelt confession, "I felt incredibly lonely and empty without you and Woo-joo. I don't think I can live without you anymore," was met with Woo Hyun-jin's tender response as she held his hand, promising to stay by his side. Woo Hyun-jin also redefined her relationship with Park Yoon-sung (played by Park Seo-ham), expressing her feelings for someone else and rejecting his affection. Park Yoon-sung, who seemed to have anticipated this, accepted Woo Hyun-jin's decision and wished her happiness, pretending to be unaffected.

The romantic journey of Seon Tae-hyung and Woo Hyun-jin began with excitement. They no longer hid their feelings. Seon Tae-hyung proudly introduced Woo Hyun-jin as his girlfriend to everyone, and even showed jealousy when she asked him to keep their relationship a secret at work. Woo Hyun-jin's kiss on Seon Tae-hyung's cheek, as he candidly expressed his feelings, brought smiles to viewers. Meanwhile, Woo Hyun-jin received a letter from the family court, summoning her for an interview and environmental investigation for the legal guardianship of Seon Woo-joo. The complicated procedures worried Woo Hyun-jin, but Seon Tae-hyung reassured her, suggesting they prepare thoroughly. As they geared up for the guardianship qualification, an unexpected incident occurred. During a trip, they almost lost Seon Woo-joo, but thanks to a middle-aged woman's help, they found him. Woo Hyun-jin's self-blame added to the tension.

On the day of the guardianship interview, Seon Tae-hyung and Woo Hyun-jin encountered a familiar face—the middle-aged woman who helped find Seon Woo-joo was the assigned family investigator. The interview took a negative turn as the investigator questioned the changing caregivers for Seon Woo-joo, conflicts with Seon Kyu-tae (played by Ryu Seung-soo), and the incident of almost losing the child. Seon Tae-hyung and Woo Hyun-jin were taken aback by the investigator's opinion that they were unfit as guardians, leaving viewers eager for the next episode.
