BLACKPINK's Jisoo Shines in 'Monthly Boyfriend' Amidst Mixed Acting Reviews
Jisoo stars as the lead character, Seo Mi-rae, in the recently released Netflix series 'Monthly Boyfriend.' The show is a romantic comedy that follows webtoon PD Seo Mi-rae, who, weary of her real-life struggles, subscribes to and experiences virtual romance through a simulation.
As the series progresses, Jisoo calmly expresses the confusion of navigating between reality and fantasy. Her evolving 'hate-to-love' romance with co-worker and rival Park Kyung-nam (played by Seo In-guk) showcases subtle emotional shifts and a strengthening inner self, completing her character's growth arc.
'Monthly Boyfriend' achieved significant success, ranking 5th globally in the Netflix TV show category and entering the TOP 10 in 69 countries and regions, according to FlixPatrol on October 8. As of October 9, it maintained its position as the number one series in Netflix Korea's TOP 10.
