Seo Jang-hoon's 'Neighboring Millionaire' Wins Excellence Award at 20th KBCSD Media Awards
Seo Jang-hoon, 14 years post-divorce, hosts the EBS show 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighboring Millionaire,' which has been honored with the Excellence Award in the TV Broadcasting category at the 20th KBCSD Media Awards.
The show's team, including Director Kim Dong-yeol, PD Kim Min-ji, PD Kim Dong-young, Writer Lim Jeong-hwa, and Writer Lee Young-joo, received the award at the ceremony held on February 27 at the Grand InterContinental Hotel in Samseong-dong, Seoul.
KBCSD is an association of CEOs leading sustainable development in South Korea. Since 2007, it has annually presented the 'KBCSD Media Awards' to recognize and encourage outstanding reports that raise public awareness of sustainable social development and contribute to the spread of ESG management in businesses. Celebrating its 20th year, the award is regarded as a leading media award system promoting sustainable development discourse.

The judging for this year covered content reported or broadcast between December 2024 and November 2025. The evaluation focused on key issues such as digital transformation, climate crisis, and resource circulation, resulting in the selection of three articles in the newspaper category and three programs in the broadcasting category. Kim Myung-ja, Chairperson of KAIST, who led the judging panel, noted in her summary that the planning and reporting capabilities that deeply explored core tasks of sustainable development, such as climate crisis response, energy transition, industrial innovation, resource circulation, and social responsibility, were particularly noteworthy.

'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighboring Millionaire' won the Excellence Award in the TV Broadcasting category for its episode titled 'The CEO Who Spent 3 Trillion, Became Rich with Waste' (aired on June 4, 2025). The episode was highly praised for convincingly demonstrating how waste, once considered useless, can be transformed into new resources, showcasing sustainable business models based on resource recycling and circular economy, thus proving that resource circulation can be a foundation for creating new economic value beyond environmental protection.
Meanwhile, 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighboring Millionaire' previously won both the Best Program and Best Writer awards in the Entertainment TV category at the 2025 Korea Broadcasting Awards.
