Comedian Lee Seung-yoon Recalls Near-Death Experience from Hornet Sting During 'I Am a Natural Person' Filming
On October 8, Lee appeared on the YouTube channel 'Jodongari' in a video titled "Yoon Taek-Lee Seung-yoon's Bombshell Declaration After 15 Years in the Mountains."
During the episode, Lee recounted the dangerous incident, saying, "I was stung by a hornet. I almost died." He recalled the moment he was stung on the shoulder by a giant hornet during a mountain shoot, noting, "The hornet was so large that I was initially shocked."
He further explained, "The venom of a giant hornet is 500 times more potent than that of a regular bee. I have an allergic constitution, so I was at risk of anaphylactic shock."
Initially, Lee didn't think much of it and intended to continue filming 'I Am a Natural Person,' but he was persuaded by those around him to head to the hospital immediately. He shared, "At first, I thought I was fine and wanted to keep filming. But people around me insisted I go to the emergency room quickly."
As his body began to swell and breathing became more challenging, the sense of urgency grew. He said, "I thought if I lost consciousness, I might not wake up again. I tried to hold on and make it to the hospital."
Ultimately, Lee lost consciousness just as he was nearing the hospital. He recounted, "I heard we were almost at the hospital, and perhaps feeling relieved, I lost consciousness at that moment."
Reflecting on the incident, he added, "After going through that, I realized I need to live even more earnestly."
