TV CHOSUN's 'Dr. Shin' Unveils Main Poster: A Thrilling Medical Drama by Im Sung-han

The main poster for TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Dr. Shin', written by Im Sung-han, has been revealed. Im Sung-han's previous work, 'Lady Durian' (2023), faced criticism for its unconventional themes, including a same-sex relationship between in-laws and a romance with a partner 30 years younger.

Premiering on October 14 at 10:30 PM, 'Dr. Shin' (written by Phoebe, Im Sung-han) is a medical thriller drama about a genius doctor challenging the realm of the divine and a woman whose brain deteriorates overnight, losing her soul.

'Dr. Shin' is a collaboration between writer Phoebe and director Lee Seung-hoon, known for his delicate direction in 'Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce)'.

The unveiled 'Dr. Shin' main poster features the complete cast of eight main characters, including Jung Yi-chan, Baek Seo-ra, Ahn Woo-yeon, Joo Se-bin, Chun Young-min, Song Ji-in, Jeon No-min, and Ji Young-san, capturing attention with their mysterious visuals. The silhouettes of the eight characters, revealing their desires through their eyes, all gaze in the same direction, leaving a powerful impression.

In the midst of pitch-black darkness, genius neurosurgeon Shin Joo-shin (played by Jung Yi-chan) stands at the center, surrounded by Mo Mo (Baek Seo-ra), Ha Yong-jung (Ahn Woo-yeon), Geum Ba-ra (Joo Se-bin), Kim Jin-joo (Chun Young-min), Hyun Ran-hee (Song Ji-in), James (Jeon No-min), and Paul Kim (Ji Young-san). Their overlapping profiles create an eerie atmosphere. The unsettling gaze, with none looking directly ahead, combined with the expressionless faces of the eight characters, is accompanied by the chilling phrase, “One love that can never be possessed,” hinting at the impending turmoil.

Additionally, the shadows of Shin Joo-shin, Mo Mo, Ha Yong-jung, Geum Ba-ra, Kim Jin-joo, Hyun Ran-hee, James, and Paul Kim appear to tremble as if refracted by a prism of light, heightening the tension. Below this, the shocking phrase, “Memories are edited, and truths are erased,” is imprinted, foreshadowing a cruel fate that shakes the core of human memory, existence, and the identity of love. The secretive glances of the eight characters, each holding a forbidden desire, raise curiosity about the forbidden desires and the unpredictable, bold narrative of 'Dr. Shin'.

The production team stated, “The 'main poster' encapsulates the narratives of the core characters in 'Dr. Shin', traversing love, desire, taboo, and sacrifice,” adding, “As Phoebe's first attempt at a medical thriller drama, expect a storyline that surpasses imagination. 'Dr. Shin' portrays the bizarre romance involving a top star in a coma due to an unexpected accident, the man who loved her, and the men who are in love with her.
