Veteran actor Shin Choong-sik, 85, recently revealed that he has undergone heart stent procedures four times after being rushed to the emergency room.

On the October 25th episode of TV Chosun's 'Perfect Life,' Shin's daily life in the countryside of Ganghwa Island was showcased.

Shin resides in Seokmodo, Ganghwa County, Incheon, with his wife. The broadcast captured the couple taking 'longevity photos' together, drawing attention.

Debuting in 1967 as part of the 'MBC 3rd Open Recruitment for Voice Actors,' Shin has been beloved for his memorable performances in national dramas like 'Country Diary.' However, he confessed that his physical strength has significantly declined recently.

He shared, "Even after tests, no specific illness was found, and I was eventually told it was due to old age." Shin was diagnosed with angina in his early 50s and received his first heart stent procedure then, followed by three more. He has also been managing diabetes for a long time.

The challenges didn't end there. Shin recalled, "I suddenly collapsed and was taken to the emergency room," adding, "At that moment, I thought, 'Is this how my life ends?'" It was a critical moment between life and death.

His deteriorating health eventually affected his acting career. Reflecting on his time in the drama 'Yi San,' he mentioned, "The production team said it was okay, but I couldn't endure it," leading him to request an early exit from the show.

Since then, Shin has been living in the countryside for over 20 years. He expressed gratitude, saying, "I'm still thankful to be alive," a statement that resonated with the audience, reflecting the heartfelt journey of the seasoned actor.

Meanwhile, 'Perfect Life' airs every Wednesday at 8 PM.
