The episode introduces a chilling tale of a family plagued by an unknown tragedy, revealing a hidden, sinister truth. Once living a seemingly perfect life, the family's fortune turns into a nightmare.

The husband, in his prime, receives a terminal diagnosis with no known cause, haunted by nightmares every night. Seeking help, the family consults a shaman, uncovering a dark family secret: ancestors had performed a forbidden ritual, trading descendants' lifespans for wealth and prosperity. This curse led to the premature deaths of the family's men, despite their success.

The revelation of an ancestor's pact with a black magic shaman shocks the studio, prompting a dangerous confrontation with the malevolent spirit to protect the family. The shaman prepares for a spiritual battle, earning the family's gratitude.

Through meticulous rituals, the shaman blinds the spirit to prevent it from finding the husband, setting up barriers to keep it at bay. Lee Sang-min expresses amazement, likening the exorcism to scenes from a movie.

Fortunately, the spirit agrees to cease its pursuit of the family's descendants, ending the cruel cycle of sacrifice with the desperate plea of a wife and mother.

In shamanic terms, such a situation is described as 'the roots of the family are rotten', warning that choices made can determine the fate of one's children and descendants.
