Singer Lee Seung-hyun Opens Up About 'Nepotism' Allegations on KBS2's 'Immortal Songs'
On the October 21st episode of KBS2TV's 'Immortal Songs', a special segment titled 'Artist Seol Woon-do' showcased a series of spectacular performances.
Celebrating his 44th debut anniversary, Seol Woon-do is a legendary figure in the Korean trot music scene, known for his nationwide hits like 'Samba Lady', 'Twist of Love', and 'Let's All Cha Cha Cha'.
During the broadcast, Seol Woon-do's son, Lee Seung-hyun, made an appearance, drawing attention. He shared, "My father composes, and my mother writes the lyrics. They create almost all the songs together."
He also boasted, "My mother designs all of my father's stage outfits. She even made the outfit I'm wearing today," which prompted playful jabs from fellow singers.
In response, Lee Seung-hyun expressed his frustration, saying, "It may seem like I'm benefiting from nepotism, but I'm actually struggling and crawling on the ground. Every day is uncertain and challenging."
He also revealed, "My father is not generous with compliments," expressing his disappointment. Son Tae-jin empathized, adding, "I've thought before, 'Couldn't Seol Woon-do say such things at home instead?'"
