Actress Lee Elijah Triumphs on 'Miss Trot 4' Despite Severe Throat Condition

Actress Lee Elijah, who faced the risk of withdrawing due to a severe throat condition, delivered a remarkable performance, becoming the star of a dramatic turnaround.

On the October 19th episode of TV Chosun's 'Miss Trot 4,' the second round of the 'Legend Mission' individual stage of the fourth main competition was aired.

During the broadcast, Lee Elijah faced a dire situation as she lost her voice due to sudden nasopharyngitis and a severe cold while preparing for her performance. She confessed, "I'm angry at myself for not managing my condition perfectly," and admitted that she even considered withdrawing due to the mental anguish.

However, Lee Elijah resolved to perform, acknowledging her oversight in self-care and determined not to disappoint herself further by failing to deliver on stage.

Choosing the legendary Choi Jin-hee's "We Broke Up Too Easily," Lee Elijah showcased her unique expressive acting skills, creating a stage reminiscent of a drama. Contrary to concerns, she overcame her throat pain and delivered an emotionally charged performance, earning high praise from the judges.

Judge Joo Young-hoon praised her overwhelming immersion, likening it to someone who had just experienced a breakup, while Lee Kyung-kyu compared it to a one-take scene in a film that gets approved in a single shot. Jang Yoon-jung also applauded Lee Elijah's perseverance, noting that even professional singers find such rigorous performances challenging.

Lee Elijah scored 1411 points from the judges, securing the top spot among the contestants. Having been in 11th place and at risk of elimination in the first round, viewers are eager to see if her victory in this individual round will help her achieve her goal of entering the final TOP 10. Her determination, despite the adversity of nasopharyngitis, has intensified the competition's excitement.
