Sam Hammington Reveals Son William's Ice Hockey Talent on 'Immortal Songs'

Sam Hammington, appearing on KBS2's 'Immortal Songs', shares updates on his son William, who is catching the eye of Australia's national team.

The 744th episode, airing on the 14th, is a 'Global Star Special' for the 2026 Lunar New Year. This special features six 'global stars' who love Korea more than Koreans themselves: Sam Hammington, Sayuri, Guzal, Daniel & Takuya, Angelina Danilova, and Leo. They will present diverse performances, turning the holiday into a festive celebration.

Sam Hammington's chemistry with MC Kim Jun-hyun is particularly noteworthy. Hammington, who debuted on 'Gag Concert' in 2002 and became the first foreign comedian in Korea in 2005, shares a special bond with Kim Jun-hyun, who joined two years later. Kim recalls being amazed by Hammington typing Korean scripts using the 'Hangul' program, which brings laughter. Hammington reminisces about the 'Gag Concert' days, mentioning terms like 'cold dungle tea' and 'hot dungle tea', to which Kim responds with nostalgia, recalling how he often served Hammington dungle tea.

Sam Hammington also shares surprising updates about his sons, William and Bentley, who became 'national babies' through 'The Return of Superman'. He reveals, "William is good at ice hockey," adding that they have even received contact from Australia's national team, astonishing everyone. Hammington admits, "I don't really like singing, but I appeared to show my kids the importance of taking on challenges," and humorously notes, "I haven't told them I'm on 'Immortal Songs' yet. If the result isn't good, I'll block this video," showing his determination.

On this day, Hammington performs a retro funk stage with Sobangcha's 'Last Night Story'. Before the performance, he playfully shows rivalry with his friend Sayuri, heating up the atmosphere. When Hammington boasts, "The production team said I'm in the top tier," Sayuri and other participants humorously claim the same, filling the set with laughter.
