Actress Ok Ja-yeon, 37, has adopted a visually impaired cat named 'Bomi'.

On the October 13th episode of MBC's variety show 'I Live Alone', Ok Ja-yeon's daily life was featured.

During the show, Ok Ja-yeon introduced her new feline companion, saying, "Bomi is the second one to join us. She's a cheerful and very curious cat."

Ok Ja-yeon recounted, "One day in December, I was walking with a friend when my friend pointed out a cat. The cat approached us directly. Upon closer inspection, I noticed it had a wound on its back. I thought it would only need some first aid, but the wound was deep enough to require surgery."

Despite the surgery, the veterinarian informed her that while there was no trauma to the eyes, the cat had a visual impairment, which might make adoption challenging. Ok Ja-yeon shared, "The wound was festering, so I had it operated on. When I went to pick her up the next day, the vet asked if I noticed anything different about her. They said she couldn't see and might be in some pain. I decided I had to take care of her, and she sat quietly on my lap. Coincidentally, the day I met her was my birthday, which felt like fate."

Ok Ja-yeon explained that she named the cat 'Bomi', meaning 'spring', hoping her life would be filled with warmth and renewal. She added, "If I hadn't taken her to the hospital, she might not have survived the winter."

Ok Ja-yeon also mentioned, "Her other senses have developed, and she remembers the layout of the house, so she has no trouble with daily life."
