Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung to Star in New KBS2 Series 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri'
Actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung have confirmed their roles in the new KBS2 mini-series 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri'.

'Simu-myeon Yeonriri' is a heartwarming family reboot drama about the urban family of Seong Tae-hoon, who find themselves in the rural area of 'Yeonriri' and strive to return to Seoul. The series promises a mix of humor and healing as the family navigates their new life.

Directed by Choi Yeon-soo, known for co-directing '24-Hour Fitness Club', 'Crazy Love', and 'The Ballot', the series is penned by writers Song Jung-rim and Wang Hye-ji, who have previously worked on 'Let's Get Married, Mangpong!' and 'Bride of the Typhoon', respectively. The trusted actors Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung will portray a married couple in the series.

Park Sung-woong takes on the role of Seong Tae-hoon, a corporate manager who relocates his family to the countryside of 'Yeonriri' due to an unexpected job transfer. Known for his versatile acting in various genres such as 'Director Maeng's Hater', 'Dog Sound', and 'National Death Penalty Vote', Park is expected to bring a witty portrayal of Tae-hoon's journey to find true happiness in nature.

Lee Soo-kyung plays Jo Mi-ryeo, a supermom who raises three sons on her own while her husband is tied to his job. With no farming knowledge or rural living experience, Jo Mi-ryeo faces unforeseen challenges as she adapts to life in Yeonriri. Lee, known for her vibrant and unique performances in 'Dog Sound', 'Left-Handed Wife', and 'What's Wrong with Secretary Kim', is anticipated to deliver a compelling narrative of resilience and relatable realism.

Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung previously collaborated in the late Lee Soon-jae's final work, the KBS drama 'Dog Sound' (2024). Their reunion in 'Simu-myeon Yeonriri' as a married couple is expected to showcase an upgraded chemistry.

The production team expressed their excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to work with the reliable duo of Park Sung-woong and Lee Soo-kyung. The actors will humorously unfold the journey of finding small but certain happiness in the village of Yeonriri, offering a 'dopamine detox' and warm healing to viewers tired of daily life. We hope for your anticipation.”

'Simu-myeon Yeonriri' is set to premiere in March.
