No Min-woo Fulfills His Dream on '6 O'Clock My Hometown'
On the episode aired on the evening of the 9th on KBS1TV's '6 O'Clock My Hometown', No Min-woo visited the village of Joeup 1-ri in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, as part of the 'Bungbungi Goes' segment. He was joined by youth association president Son Heon-soo for their second Lunar New Year service.
In this episode, No Min-woo captured the hearts of the elderly with his unique approach, wielding rustic scissors and sickles ahead of the Lunar New Year.
Together with the Icheon City Volunteer Center's Triple Volunteer Group, the duo opened the 'Bungbungi Hair Salon' to provide hairdressing services and help the village elders prepare for the holiday. Known as the 'Asian Prince', No Min-woo swapped the glamorous stage for a quaint rural village, showcasing his charm by personally styling the elders' hair.
The scene was filled with challenges from the start. Beginning with the village chief as their first customer, a series of elders concerned about their thinning hair followed, creating a tense atmosphere. However, Son Heon-soo's neat haircutting skills and No Min-woo's meticulous styling shone through. Notably, No Min-woo crafted a voluminous hairstyle for an elder with very little hair, earning admiration from those present. He even provided a refreshing scalp massage, prompting the elders to praise, "No Min-woo's touch is the most refreshing."
Listening to the touching stories of the villagers, such as a family caring for a mother with dementia and a wife supporting her visually impaired husband, No Min-woo and Son Heon-soo offered warm comfort, delivering heartfelt emotions to viewers ahead of the holiday. Their genuine volunteer work, complete with manicure services and abundant snacks, became an unforgettable Lunar New Year gift for the village of Joeup 1-ri.
Amidst this, No Min-woo expressed his desire to appear on '6 O'Clock My Hometown', saying, "I go to a bathhouse once a week, and the owner always has '6 O'Clock My Hometown' on." He added, "But the owner doesn't know what I do, so I wanted to appear on the show."
He continued, "The owner must be surprised watching now." When asked to say something to the bathhouse owner, No Min-woo said, "Owner, I'm an actor," adding humorously, "I recently went to the bathhouse and saw '6 O'Clock My Hometown' on, and I thought it must be really cold working while applying lotion. It is indeed cold, and the work is really tough," eliciting laughter.
