Mysterious Disappearance of 51-Year-Old Woman Unveiled on KBS2's 'Smoking Gun'

On August 30, 2022, around 6 PM, a missing person report was filed with the police, stating that a person was unable to contact an acquaintance.

The missing individual was a 51-year-old woman, identified as Joo Eun-soon (alias). Investigators noted that Joo's cellphone was left at home, suggesting that her disappearance was not a simple case of running away. CCTV footage revealed that Joo returned home the day before the report was filed, but there was no evidence of her leaving afterward. The mystery of Joo's sudden disappearance from her home deepens.

The investigation team began a more detailed analysis of the apartment's CCTV footage to trace Joo's whereabouts. Soon, they captured a suspicious scene: an hour after Joo entered her home, a man wearing a bicycle helmet was seen struggling to drag a large suitcase in the elevator. The man in the footage was Joo's husband, who vehemently denied any wrongdoing. However, as the investigation progressed, a decisive 'smoking gun' emerged, leaving the audience in shock.

Lee Ji-hye expressed her disbelief, stating, "It's such an unexpected story, it's shocking," and added, "It's heartbreaking to think about the suffering the family must have endured." Ahn Hyun-mo commented, "Repeated betrayal and lies ultimately led to disaster," and praised the detective's ingenuity in uncovering a case that could have remained buried forever.

The broadcast featured Detective Lee Byung-jo from the Daegu Dalseong Police Station, who was in charge of the investigation, providing detailed insights into the case. Psychiatrist Lee Kwang-min also appeared to analyze the psychological factors that led to the family's downfall.
