Veteran Actress Jeon Soo-kyung Shares Life with Her Remarkably Healthy 97-Year-Old Father
On November 4th at 10 PM, TV CHOSUN's variety show 'Dad and Me Season 3' will feature Jeon Soo-kyung, a first-generation musical star and a versatile actress with a 39-year career, as she joins the show as a new daughter representative. Jeon's father, born in 1930, has lived through significant events in Korean history, including the Japanese occupation, liberation, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War, reaching the age of 97.
Jeon's father, starting his day alone, comfortably navigated YouTube on his smartphone, despite being 97 years old. He began his day by searching for and listening to trot music. He also engaged in a full-body stretch and morning exercise with transparent dumbbells. Impressed by his flexibility, Im Hyung-joo remarked, “He’s more flexible than I am,” while Subin expressed amazement at Jeon's father's stamina, suggesting, “We should check his ID.”
Jeon's father then turned on a mysterious machine and pulled out a ledger, piquing curiosity about whether it held the secret to his health. However, it turned out to be a karaoke machine and a list of his favorite songs. He sang with a rich, seasoned voice, demonstrating perfect pitch and rhythm, and even danced energetically.
Subin was amazed by his ability to sing without reading the lyrics, commenting, “He must have memorized all the lyrics.” Han Hye-jin acknowledged the inherited singing talent, saying, “Jeon Soo-kyung must take after her father.” Jeon Hyun-moo enthusiastically suggested, “Why not compete in 'Mr. Trot' next?”
Jeon Soo-kyung, who decided to appear on the show with her father, shared, “There’s a family story I’ve always wanted to hear from my father but never dared to ask.” She hinted at unveiling hidden family stories through 'Dad and Me.'
