'Beloved Thief' Starring Nam Ji-hyun Sees Rising Ratings Amid KBS Drama Struggles

KBS weekend mini-series are facing a tough time with recent shows like 'Twelve', 'Eunsoo's Good Day', and 'Last Summer' failing to capture audiences. However, 'Beloved Thief', starring Nam Ji-hyun, is bucking the trend with increasing viewership ratings. 'Eunsoo's Good Day' was particularly anticipated as it marked actress Lee Young-ae's return to KBS after 26 years, but it fell short of expectations.

In KBS 2TV's weekend mini-series 'Beloved Thief', Nam Ji-hyun takes on the titular role of Hong Eun-jo, delivering a compelling performance. The show's ratings have climbed from 4.3% in its first episode to 7.0% by the tenth episode, indicating a growing audience.

Nam Ji-hyun showcases a wide range of acting skills in this dynamic series that blends historical drama, romantic comedy, action, and body-swap elements. Her chemistry with Moon Sang-min's character, Prince Yi-yeol, adds a layer of tender romance and playful banter, while her action scenes as the righteous thief Gil-dong are equally captivating.

The transformation of Hong Eun-jo from a bright and warm character to one devastated by her father's death is heart-wrenching. Nam Ji-hyun's portrayal of Eun-jo's boiling anger, especially in scenes where she shoots an arrow at Lee Gyu (played by Ha Seok-jin) and confronts Jae-yi (played by Hong Min-ki), has captivated viewers.
