Chae Seo-an is set to star in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama '21st Century Grand Duchess'. This project is highly anticipated as it marks the next work of Byun Woo-seok following the 2024 tvN hit 'Escape with Seonjae'.

'21st Century Grand Duchess' is a romance drama set in a 21st-century constitutional monarchy in South Korea. It tells the story of a wealthy woman frustrated by her commoner status and a prince who, despite his royal lineage, is unable to possess anything. The drama, featuring IU and Byun Woo-seok, is one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

Chae Seo-an will play the role of Han Da-young, the eldest daughter of a noble family and former Minister of Justice. Han Da-young is characterized by her graceful appearance and cultured demeanor. She is the new sister-in-law of IU's character, Seong Hee-joo. This marks Chae Seo-an's second collaboration with IU, following their previous work in 'You Have Done Well' released in March last year.

Chae Seo-an gained attention for her role as the young Yeong-ran in the Netflix series 'You Have Done Well', which was a global hit. She left a strong impression with her portrayal of a character with a surprising twist behind her innocent appearance, earning the nickname 'Lady Hak'. Unlike her previous role, which involved complex emotional changes, her character in '21st Century Grand Duchess' is expected to showcase a lively charm as a noblewoman.

Chae Seo-an made her debut in the 2021 KBS2 drama 'Police University' and has since expanded her filmography with appearances in popular series such as Netflix's 'Hellbound', 'Hierarchy', and ENA's 'Paper Moon'. '21st Century Grand Duchess' is scheduled to air in April.
