Veteran Actress Kim Yong-rim Opens Up About Her Relationship with Daughter-in-Law Kim Ji-young

Veteran actress Kim Yong-rim recently expressed her feelings towards her daughter-in-law, actress Kim Ji-young.

On January 28, a video titled 'The Real Health Secrets of 80s Sisters | Spicy Talk with Kim Yong-rim (+Black and White Chef 2 Restaurant)' was uploaded on the YouTube channel 'Kim Young-ok'.

In the video, Kim Young-ok met with Kim Yong-rim at the restaurant of Chef Park Hyo-nam, who appeared on Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2'.

Kim Young-ok commented on Kim Yong-rim, saying, "People think she's a scary, wicked mother-in-law, but she can't even confront anyone in a fight." Kim Yong-rim admitted, "I suffer a lot because of my roles. I'm like soft red bean porridge."

Kim Yong-rim's late husband was Nam Il-woo, her son is actor Nam Sung-jin, and her daughter-in-law is actress Kim Ji-young. When asked if she often dines out with her family, Kim Yong-rim replied, "We can't. We do it occasionally. Since everyone in the family is an actor, our schedules are all different."

Kim Young-ok has previously worked with Kim Ji-young in 'Typhoon Company'. She described Kim Ji-young as "unique" and "thoughtful," adding, "She probably doesn't know it."

Kim Yong-rim shared, "She can't express herself well. It's not that she doesn't want to, she just can't. Sometimes, as a mother-in-law, I feel a bit hurt."

When asked which type of daughter-in-law she prefers, a fox-like or a bear-like one, Kim Yong-rim said, "You need a mix of both," and added, "There's an old saying that you can live with a fox but not with a bear." Kim Young-ok agreed, saying, "As you age, it's better to have someone who can be cunning rather than just deep." Kim Yong-rim concluded, "As I get older, I find more things to be upset about. No one is perfect."
