Choi Woo-sung Shines in Netflix's 'Is This Love Translatable?'

Actor Choi Woo-sung has made a significant impression on audiences through the Netflix series 'Is This Love Translatable?'. Playing the role of the protagonist's manager, neither the lead nor the villain, Choi has added depth to the series, marking a milestone in his eight-year acting career.

Choi Woo-sung began his professional acting journey by signing an exclusive contract with AM Entertainment, home to actors Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a. He debuted in 2019 with the JTBC drama 'At Eighteen' and has since appeared in about ten productions in supporting and minor roles, building his filmography. Although he starred in MBC's 'Detective Squad' and TVING's 'Running Mate', he did not leave a strong impression.

However, 'Is This Love Translatable?' has become a turning point in his career. In the series, Choi plays Kim Yong-woo, the manager of Cha Mu-hee (played by Go Yoon-jung), realistically portraying a manager who quickly assesses and responds to situations. His naturalistic acting, especially in playful exchanges with Go Yoon-jung, has been praised.

Choi's on-screen romance with actress Lee Yi-dam also caught viewers' attention. He convincingly portrayed a younger man with striking physical presence, who openly expresses his feelings without overdoing it. Viewers found his subplot romance as exciting as the main romance between actors Kim Seon-ho and Go Yoon-jung.

Currently, 'Is This Love Translatable?' has climbed to the second spot in Netflix's global non-English series category within three days of its release, entering the top 10 in 36 countries. It continues to top the charts in South Korea for two consecutive weeks. Amidst this success, Choi Woo-sung is being recognized for his acting skills, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

An industry insider commented on Choi Woo-sung, saying, "Despite having smaller roles in the past, his consistent acting experience has shone through in 'Is This Love Translatable?'. He is an actor whose future endeavors are highly anticipated."
