On the October 23rd episode of KBS2TV's 'New Release, Pyeonstorang,' Son Tae-jin's surprise culinary talents were revealed.

During the episode, Son Tae-jin shared a special day he prepared for his parents, who were celebrating their wedding anniversary. He hinted at an event for his 'precious one' and decorated the house with a path of candles, sparking curiosity among the studio audience. In a romantic setting reminiscent of a proposal, the special guests turned out to be his parents. Drawing from his 16 years of living abroad and his studies in Italy, Son Tae-jin prepared a meal that included a pepper steak recipe from a French friend, authentic Italian egg carbonara, and his mother's signature pineapple salmon dish.

During the cooking process, Son Tae-jin amazed everyone by balancing three cell phones on a knife, showcasing a unique skill. Chef Lee Yeon-bok praised his dexterity, while Boom jokingly asked if he had also set up the Seoul National University sign himself, eliciting laughter.

Son Tae-jin humorously responded that he had set it up, but it was leaning to the side. After the meal, he presented his parents with a bouquet and a box containing 1 million won in cash. His mother expressed deep affection for her thoughtful son, recalling similar events in the past, while his father praised the perfect doneness of the dishes.

Previously known as 'Son-sleung' on various entertainment shows, Son Tae-jin once again demonstrated his pride in cooking through this broadcast. Chef Lee Yeon-bok expressed anticipation, suggesting that with more lessons from his mother, Son Tae-jin could become an excellent 'Pyeon-chef.'
