'I Am Solo' Star Young-sook Apologizes for Blunt Remarks to Young-sik on Air

Young-sook, a contestant from the 29th season of 'I Am Solo,' has publicly apologized for her straightforward comments directed at fellow contestant Young-sik during the show.

The YouTube channel 'Village Chief Entertainment TV,' operated by ENA and SBS PLUS's 'I Am Solo,' recently uploaded a video titled 'The Appearance of Professor Young-sook on a Live Broadcast via Video Call.'

In the video, which was part of a live broadcast following the show's finale, Young-sook joined via video call due to an overseas business trip. Reflecting on her experience, she admitted to becoming emotionally involved in various relationships during the show, which led to moments of unintended emotional expression. She expressed her apologies to those who might have been hurt in the process.

Young-sook specifically addressed her comments to Young-sik, acknowledging that while her advice came from a place of concern, her delivery was harsh. She explained that she reached out to Young-sik to apologize personally, worried that her words might have hurt him. Previously, Young-sook had advised Young-sik with remarks like "Being too honest can be selfish" and "You need to get a grip," earning her the nickname 'Oh Eun Young-sook' among viewers.

The live broadcast also noted the absence of other contestants, including Soon-ja and Young-sik, due to personal reasons. Young-ja explained that all absent contestants, including Young-sik, wanted to participate but were unable to due to unavoidable circumstances. During the show, Young-sik faced criticism from some viewers for expressing interest in multiple contestants simultaneously and for his one-sided communication style.

In related news, rumors of Young-sik's resignation have surfaced on an anonymous workplace community. A user claiming to be a colleague alleged that Young-sik had expressed his intention to resign to his team leader and bid farewell to the company. However, there has been no official statement from Young-sik regarding these claims. Young-sook concluded her video call by thanking viewers and her fellow 29th season contestants for their warm support despite her shortcomings, and she looked forward to future meetings.
