On the 20th, the production team of 'The Manager' confirmed to TenAsia, "After discussions, we have decided not to broadcast Lim Sung-geun's episode."
Previously, news broke about Lim Sung-geun's appearances on MBC's variety shows 'Hangout with Yoo' and 'The Manager.' Chef Lim Sung-geun, who gained recognition through Netflix's 'Black and White Chef 2,' has recently been at the center of various controversies. He addressed allegations of school violence and revealed his past DUI offenses, causing further uproar. On the 18th, Lim posted a handwritten apology on social media, beginning with "Hello, this is Lim Sung-geun." He confessed, "I sincerely apologize for the significant past mistakes that have weighed heavily on my heart."
He continued, "There is no excuse for my DUI offenses. I deeply regretted them at the time and faced all legal consequences. Over the past few years, I have taken time to reflect on myself." He added, "I apologize once again for disappointing you with my careless actions."
As a result of these controversies, Lim's television appearances are being canceled one after another. It has been reported that his appearances on JTBC's 'Knowing Bros' and KBS's 'Stars' Top Recipe at Fun-Staurant' have been canceled. MBC's 'Hangout with Yoo' was also scheduled for recording but did not proceed with filming. With ongoing controversies and cancellations, Lim Sung-geun appears to be on the path to halting his broadcasting activities.
