Comedian Hong Yoon-hwa has successfully lost 40kg in just nine months, as revealed on the October 19th episode of SBS's variety show 'Same Bed, Different Dreams 2 - You Are My Destiny'.

On this episode, Hong Yoon-hwa showcased her dedication to her weight loss journey, engaging in slow jogging until the final day of her weigh-in. She shared, "I tried to make walking and running a part of my daily routine."

During her run, a passerby mistakenly cheered her on as Hong Hyun-hee, to which Hong Yoon-hwa humorously responded, "People used to confuse me with Shin Ki-ru, but now they mix me up with Hong Hyun-hee after losing weight. I like the change." Shin Ki-ru jokingly expressed jealousy, saying, "You look so pretty now, I'm envious."

Having been together for 15 years, including 8 years of dating and 7 years of marriage, Hong Yoon-hwa embarked on her first life-changing running challenge with her husband, Kim Min-ki. Now fitting snugly into his arms, she proudly stated, "I wear a regular XL size now. I can see my bones; when I knock on a table, it makes a 'knock knock' sound."

Kim Min-ki praised her new look, saying, "You even have a jawline now. You could enter a Miss Korea pageant." However, he also noted, "Without any cheat days, she even asks in her sleep, 'Can I eat this?'"

Kim Min-ki had promised to buy Hong Yoon-hwa a '10-don gold bracelet' if she succeeded in losing 40kg. Shocked by the jeweler's update that the gold price had risen to 910,000 won per don, making the bracelet worth 9,550,000 won, he nonetheless fulfilled his promise.

On the day of the weigh-in, Hong Yoon-hwa first tried on a dress she couldn't button 50 days prior, now fitting perfectly. She then stepped on the scale, confirming her 40kg weight loss in nine months.

Kim Sook asked if her weight now started with an '8', to which Hong Yoon-hwa confirmed. Shin Ki-ru jokingly suggested she should become an idol, causing laughter.

Having witnessed her journey closely, Kim Min-ki congratulated her, saying, "You worked hard," and paid for the 9,550,000 won gold bracelet in full. Overwhelmed with emotion, Hong Yoon-hwa wept tears of joy, deeply moved by the gesture.
