Park Shin-hye and Oh Yeon-seo Return to Weekend Drama with Unique Romantic Comedies

Actresses Park Shin-hye and Oh Yeon-seo are making their much-anticipated return to the small screen with new weekend dramas, each showcasing their unique charm in romantic comedies.

Park Shin-hye stars in tvN's weekend drama 'Undercover Miss Hong,' which tells the story of Hong Geum-bo, a 30-something elite securities supervisor from the 1990s who goes undercover as a 20-year-old entry-level employee at a securities firm. Park Shin-hye takes on the role of Hong Geum-bo, alongside co-star Go Kyung-pyo.

Set to premiere on the 17th, 'Undercover Miss Hong' is expected to continue the stable viewership of its predecessor, 'Pro Bono,' which concluded with a 10% viewership rating. This marks Park Shin-hye's return to tvN after eight years since 'Memories of the Alhambra' aired in 2018, adding to the anticipation.

At the press conference on the 12th, Park Shin-hye expressed her gratitude, saying, "I'm very thankful to be called back after such a long time. I hope to hear that I can exude cheerful energy like a 20-year-old even at 35. We worked hard on this, so please show a lot of interest."

Channel A is also launching its weekend drama 'A Baby is Coming' on the same day. Starring Oh Yeon-seo, the drama explores a romance that begins with a one-night stand and evolves into a realistic issue of premarital pregnancy. Oh Yeon-seo plays Jang Hee-won, the youngest manager at a liquor company, alongside actor Choi Jin-hyuk.

'A Baby is Coming' carries both pressure and expectations as Channel A's first weekend drama. It is scheduled to air at 10:30 PM, a competitive time slot against popular variety shows and dramas from other networks. At the press conference on the 13th, Oh Yeon-seo confidently stated, "We've portrayed the process of thinking about love and taking responsibility for a baby solidly, so you can look forward to it."

Both Park Shin-hye and Oh Yeon-seo have previously excelled in the romantic comedy genre. Park Shin-hye has proven her stable acting skills and excellent character portrayal in tvN's 'Doctor Slump,' SBS's 'You're Beautiful,' 'The Heirs,' and 'Doctors.' Oh Yeon-seo has also received praise for her natural chemistry with co-stars in films like 'Cheese in the Trap' and dramas such as MBC's 'Love with Flaws' and SBS's 'My Sassy Girl.'

With contrasting themes of undercover employment and premarital pregnancy, these two romantic comedies are set to premiere on the 17th. As 'rom-com queens' Park Shin-hye and Oh Yeon-seo bring their distinct styles to the weekend drama scene, industry attention is focused on which will capture the audience's hearts.
