Kim Hye-yoon Reveals Secret to Landing Role in 'Sky Castle'

Actress Kim Hye-yoon shared her secret to passing the audition for the drama 'Sky Castle'.

On the 327th episode of tvN's variety show 'You Quiz on the Block' (hereafter referred to as 'You Quiz'), which aired on the 14th, actress Kim Hye-yoon appeared as a guest.

Kim Hye-yoon, after seven years of being relatively unknown, successfully passed the 'Sky Castle' audition, overcoming a staggering 200-to-1 competition ratio. On the show, Kim Hye-yoon recalled the audition vividly, saying, "I went with the mindset of 'I'm going to get rejected again today'."

She reminisced, "There were so many beautiful and stunning people there, including Bora unnie, and I thought, 'She's a celebrity,' as I entered the audition room."

Kim Hye-yoon continued, "There was a script given on the day, which was about seven pages long." She explained, "It's usually not that much. The script was a scene where Yesuh talks about Nietzsche's liberalism, and it was filled with difficult vocabulary and lengthy lines."

As the person before her took longer, Kim Hye-yoon had a bit more time and thought, "Let's at least understand what this means before delivering the lines." She searched intensely to understand what Yesuh wanted to convey and went into the audition thinking, "I'm going to get rejected again," but ended up getting the part. She later asked the director why she was chosen and was told, "You were the only one who understood and acted out Yesuh's lines."
