1980s Comedian Seo Won-seop Shares Life Update After 35 Years
Recently, MBN's 'Special World' official channel released a video titled, "Famous 1980s Comedian Seo Won-seop Leaves Everything Behind for America? Now Caring for His Ailing Mother."
The video features Seo Won-seop, once known as the 'original chubby comedian,' who revealed that he is now living as a missionary with his mother following a divorce.
In the broadcast, Seo Won-seop humorously interacted with his mother while helping with farm work, showcasing his simple lifestyle. He mentioned, "I've been living in this house for about three years," as he introduced his modest living space.
Reflecting on his career in the 1980s, Seo said, "From 1986 to 1988, I was shooting the most commercials." Debuting as a comedian in KBS's 4th open recruitment, he gained fame through popular segments like 'Bongsunga School' and worked alongside Shim Hyung-rae.
Seo reflected on his early marriage at 20, saying, "I married too young. My mother was strongly opposed, and it was a time of many conflicts." He shared that his marriage ended due to in-law conflicts and issues related to his daughters' education abroad.
Towards the end of the broadcast, fellow comedian Shim Hyung-rae appeared, expressing his affection for Seo, saying, "He excels in singing and acting. If I had met him instead of Im Ha-ryong, he could have been the next Im Ha-ryong."
Seo Won-seop's life update after 35 years left a profound impact on viewers.
