Rising Star Cho Han-gyul Discusses His Role in 'Undercover Miss Hong'

Cho Han-gyul, a 2002-born actor under SUBLIME, shared his reasons for joining the cast of 'Undercover Miss Hong' and expressed his affection for his character. He is part of the same agency as renowned celebrities like Ko So-young, Nana, and Seo Yea-ji. Cho stands at an impressive 181cm.

Set to premiere on Saturday, the 17th at 9:10 PM, tvN's new weekend drama 'Undercover Miss Hong' is an office comedy set in the late 1990s. It follows elite securities supervisor Hong Geum-bo (played by Park Shin-hye) as she goes undercover as a 20-year-old rookie employee at a securities firm to investigate suspicious financial activities.

Cho Han-gyul plays Albert Oh(알벗 오), a cinephile and the grandson of the chairman of Hanmin Securities, who lands in Yeouido with a golden parachute. "From the first read, the script was incredibly engaging. The late 1990s office setting was particularly appealing," Cho shared about his first impression of 'Undercover Miss Hong'. Regarding the chemistry with the cast, he added, "I felt the synergy with all the actors was top-notch. Being the youngest, the senior actors took great care of me, making the filming experience joyful."

Cho described his character Albert Oh as seemingly naive but actually intelligent and meticulous. "He's cool and can easily befriend adults, which I hope viewers will find endearing," he said, expressing his fondness for the role. He also noted, "There are similarities and differences between Albert and me. I'd say our sync rate is about 50 percent," piquing curiosity.

Highlighting the comedic elements as a key attraction of 'Undercover Miss Hong', Cho urged viewers to focus on the humor. "While there are serious scenes, the comedy woven throughout is something I hope audiences will enjoy," he added. "If I were to sum up 'Undercover Miss Hong' in one word, it would be 'love'. It's a project I'm deeply attached to, and I love everyone on set. I hope viewers will show it lots of love and attention."
