Intrigue and Suspense Unfold in 'Judge Lee Han-young' as Ji Sung's Character Faces Murder Accusation
MBC's Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge Lee Han-young' made a striking debut last week with its bold and fast-paced storyline. The first episode achieved a peak viewership rating of 6.9%, according to Nielsen Korea, marking a promising start. As Lee Han-young's (played by Ji Sung) journey of return begins, let's delve into the key foreshadowing elements from episodes 1 and 2 that will influence future events.
Corrupt judge Lee Han-young recalls his father, Lee Bong-seok (played by Jung Jae-sung), when he sees protesters in front of the court before the trial of Go Jin-hwa Chemical's industrial accident case. In the past, his father sided with the evicted residents, while Han-young worked as a contractor for S Construction. This painful history resurfaces as Han-young, then a high school student, joined the protest wearing a mask, and Bong-seok seemed to instinctively recognize his son. In 2035, Han-young reflects on this moment when he sees his father suffering from dementia. The question remains whether the father and son recognized each other at the demolition site and what their connection to S Construction entails.
Prosecutor Kim Jin-ah (played by Won Jin-ah) is relentlessly pursuing S Group's Jang Tae-sik. Although the reason is yet to be revealed, her long-standing grudge runs deep. Kim Jin-ah even changed departments due to Haenal Law Firm's involvement in the Jang Tae-sik case, confronting Han-young with intense pressure, stating, "I pursued Jang Tae-sik from the moment I became a prosecutor." The connection between Kim Jin-ah and Jang Tae-sik and how her determination will add intensity to the unfolding drama is a point of interest.
'Judge Lee Han-young' airs every Friday and Saturday at 9:50 PM.
