Fly to the Sky's Brian and Hwanhee Reveal Shocking Past and Address Long-Standing Rumors on YouTube Debut
The duo appeared on the YouTube channel 'Donghaemul and Baekdu Eunhyuk,' run by Super Junior's Donghae and Eunhyuk, in a video titled 'Hwanhee: The Most Fun Variety Show So Far LOL First Joint YouTube Appearance Reveals All Unreleased Fight Stories from Former SM Seniors.'
In the video, Brian and Hwanhee reminisced while watching behind-the-scenes footage from their debut days. During this, Brian revealed a shocking incident where he was assaulted by a camera director six months into their debut. The incident occurred after a music show performance when a camera director instructed him to hold the camera and rap during a live broadcast, a directive not communicated to the main camera director.
Brian recounted, "As I was coming off stage, the camera director grabbed me by the collar and hit me, yelling, 'Hey, you XX!'" The incident was particularly distressing as it was the first time his parents, visiting from the U.S., had come to see him perform in Korea.
The pair also addressed the long-standing rumors of discord between them, particularly regarding their 'Missing You' performance, where they famously sang with their backs to each other. Hwanhee admitted, "We fought a lot over trivial things when we were young and sometimes went on stage without making up," but firmly dismissed specific rumors, such as Brian planning to leave for the U.S. without notice, as "blatant lies."
Finally, Brian opened up about his current vocal issues and psychological stress, admitting, "Singing has become a source of stress, and the joy has faded," hinting at burnout. Hwanhee offered heartfelt support, praising Brian's unique voice, and Brian expressed openness to future collaborations, saying, "If Hwanhee suggests a duet, I'd be willing to record."
