BIGBANG's Daesung recently invited YouTuber Matsuda to his channel to share behind-the-scenes stories from his time in Japan and his military service experiences.

On Daesung's YouTube channel 'Jipdaesung,' a video titled 'Asking the Boss About Old-School Ways' was uploaded.

In the video, Daesung role-plays as a promoted junior while dining with Matsuda. He reminisces about his two years of indie activities in Japan before officially debuting, sharing anecdotes about his agency's CEO. Daesung recalled being obliged to eat fatty sirloin steak, which the CEO often treated him to, despite not enjoying it.

The conversation also touched on food misconceptions and changing tastes. Daesung shared a story about the misunderstanding of the Korean dish 'Samgyetang' by Japanese people, while Matsuda expressed his surprise at trying 'Gamjatang' for the first time in Japan.

Both agreed on avoiding greasy foods as they age. Daesung then explained the origin of the term 'kkondae' (old-school) to Matsuda, naturally leading to a discussion on military culture.

Daesung revealed some absurd traditions from his military service, such as juniors having to carry seniors down the stairs when they shouted 'Iron Man.'

He also mentioned the restriction of not being able to use chopsticks until reaching a certain rank. Matsuda, who enlisted in 1992, shared his own experiences of having to eat quickly without the luxury of chopsticks.

The duo also discussed the fading culture of company dinners. Matsuda reminisced about the long dinners that extended to karaoke sessions, while Daesung, a former member of the 'Ikija' unit, found common ground with Matsuda, who served in the 'Baekdusan' unit, over their tough military experiences.
