Archbishop of Seoul Mourns the Passing of Beloved Actor Ahn Sung-ki
Archbishop Jeong Sun-taek of the Seoul Archdiocese has expressed deep condolences over the passing of the late actor Ahn Sung-ki (baptismal name: John the Apostle).

On the 5th, Archbishop Jeong reflected, "The deceased was a figure who brought hope, comfort, and warm happiness to the public through his acting." He further noted, "The authenticity he displayed in his works transcended time, leaving a lasting impression on many hearts and becoming a bright light in our society."

Ahn Sung-ki, who had been battling blood cancer, passed away at 9 a.m. in the intensive care unit of Soonchunhyang University Hospital in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, surrounded by his family. He was 74 years old.

Ahn Sung-ki's memorial will be held in Room 31 of the Seoul St. Mary's Hospital Funeral Hall. The funeral service is scheduled for January 9th at 6 a.m., with the burial to follow at Byeolgeurida in Yangpyeong.
