Lee Kyung-kyu Addresses 'Medication Driving' Incident on 'Hangout with Yoo'

On the recent episode of MBC's 'Hangout with Yoo,' aired on the 3rd, veteran entertainer Lee Kyung-kyu made an appearance to discuss various topics, including a past controversy.

During the show, Yoo Jae-suk, Haha, Joo Woo-jae, and Heo Kyung-hwan visited Lee Kyung-kyu to exchange New Year's greetings. Lee, while offering words of wisdom, humorously expressed his desire to collaborate with Yoo Jae-suk, acknowledging the ups and downs of a long career.

Lee also expressed interest in filling the vacancy left by Jo Se-ho on tvN's 'You Quiz on the Block.' Yoo Jae-suk was surprised by Lee's candidness, calling it a fresh perspective.

Lee humorously stated his willingness to step aside once the situation is resolved, but joked that he wouldn't if Joo Woo-jae were to join, leading to laughter. Joo Woo-jae, in response, clarified that he never expressed a desire to join.

In a more serious segment, Lee addressed the 'medication driving' incident that had previously stirred controversy. Last year, he was fined 2 million won for driving under the influence of medication prescribed for panic disorder.

Lee explained that the incident occurred due to a parking attendant's mistake, leading him to drive a car identical to his own, which resulted in a theft suspicion and police intervention.

He recounted, "I almost faced a major issue last year and have reflected on it deeply." He clarified that contrary to reports, he was not at a golf practice range but was visiting a hospital for an injection due to feeling unwell.

After receiving the injection, he felt dizzy and mistakenly drove a car of the same model as his own. "I learned a lot from this experience," he admitted, acknowledging his mistake.

Lee expressed regret over the incident, especially since he had reappeared on 'Hangout with Yoo' at the end of last year. He lamented, "I wanted to continue with 'Conscience Appliances,' but the medication driving incident was heartbreaking."
