Chef Kim Do-yoon Shares Behind-the-Scenes Stories from 'Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War' Season 2
On the YouTube channel 'Jeong Ji-seon's Knife Isma,' run by Chef Jeong Ji-seon, a video titled 'Hidden Review of Episodes 4-7 with Season 1's Hidden Spoon Chef Kim Do-yoon' was uploaded.
In the video, Kim Do-yoon discussed his experience of rejoining the show as a hidden contestant in Season 2 and shared his honest feelings after being eliminated.
Jeong Ji-seon asked Kim why he hadn't mentioned his participation in Season 2 beforehand. Kim humorously explained that he was bound by a confidentiality agreement, stating, "If I revealed my participation, I would have to pay a penalty," eliciting laughter.
Kim didn't hide his disappointment about his elimination. He humorously revisited the critique from judge Ahn Sung-jae regarding noodle cooking, which still seemed to bother him, causing laughter on set. Kim shared, "After being eliminated, I went home and had a deep conversation over drinks with my girlfriend." He also offered a critical analysis of his loss to competitor Seonjae Monk, suggesting that MSG should have been used to enhance flavor.
Kim also made an intriguing revelation about fellow hidden contestant Chef Choi Kang-rok. He claimed that Choi's unique speech and interview style were meticulously planned. Kim praised Choi's thoroughness, saying, "He seems like someone who prepares everything perfectly for the show, true to his Marine Corps background." Kim added a humorous note about their drinking sessions, where they would sit in silence for two hours, only drinking, before parting ways.
