‘Reply 1988’ 10th Anniversary: A Heartfelt Reunion for the Ssangmun-dong Family

The 'Reply 1988' family shed tears of joy during a surprise reunion on the show's 10th anniversary special.

On the October 26th broadcast of tvN's 'Reply 1988 10th Anniversary', the beloved Ssangmun-dong families embarked on a nostalgic 1-night, 2-day trip.

Following a pocket money game, the families of Deok-sun (Sung Dong-il, Lee Il-hwa, Ryu Hye-young, Hyeri, Choi Sung-won), Jung-bong (Ra Mi-ran, Kim Sung-kyun, Ahn Jae-hong, Lee Min-ji, Lee Dong-hwi), and Taek-Sun-woo (Choi Moo-sung, Park Bo-gum, Kim Sun-young, Go Kyung-pyo, Yoo Jae-myung) reunited at a rest stop, reminiscing about the lively atmosphere of Ssangmun-dong.

Sung Dong-il humorously suggested pooling resources with Ra Mi-ran, known as the 'rich family of Ssangmun-dong', offering his entire fortune of 10,000 won. He bought a box of persimmons and asked who they should share it with. Hyeri and Ryu Hye-young playfully chose their on-screen partners, Taek (Park Bo-gum) and Sun-woo (Go Kyung-pyo), respectively.

In the car, Hyeri joked about her belly, unbuttoning her pants, while Ryu Hye-young expressed embarrassment. Sung Dong-il, unfazed, recalled Hyeri doing the same during past drama shoots, highlighting her unchanged nature over the years.

Kim Sun-young was impressed by the singing talents of Park Bo-gum, Lee Dong-hwi, and Go Kyung-pyo. Go Kyung-pyo's cover video amassed 18 million views, and Park Bo-gum, who showcased his musical skills in 'Cantabile', shared that he originally aspired to be a singer-songwriter before being advised to pursue acting.

Upon arriving at the lodging, Lee Dong-hwi, who usually enjoys staying home, showed signs of fatigue from the long drive. He humorously remarked about feeling nervous with Park Bo-gum in the passenger seat and joked about taking the train back.

At the MT location, the families engaged in a 'Ssangmun-dong Family Game Show'. During a speed quiz, Park Bo-gum faced accusations of cheating with 'Brazilian tteokbokki', which he denied but later admitted to describing as 'made of rice cake', resulting in a penalty. Lee Dong-hwi praised Park Bo-gum's honesty, noting he had never seen him lie.

The preview for the next episode teased an emotional reunion with Jin-joo, who has grown significantly over the past decade, bringing tears to the set. Kim Sun-young, who played her mother, expressed her surprise and deep emotions.
