Emotional Turmoil: Seo Jun-kyung's Heartfelt Regret Over Mother's Passing in 'Love Me'
In the premiere episode of JTBC's 'Love Me' aired on the 19th, Seo Jun-kyung is seen clashing with her mother, Kim Mi-ran, played by Jang Hye-jin.
During a birthday dinner with Seo Jun-ho, played by Yoo Jae-myung, Kim Mi-ran brings up the topic of death, leaving Seo Jun-kyung feeling frustrated. Seo Jun-kyung sighs, "I feel like I age every time I come to this house," to which Kim Mi-ran retorts, "Say 'I'," leading to a heated exchange that wounds both parties.
Seo Jun-seo, played by Lee Si-woo, sides with Kim Mi-ran, admonishing Seo Jun-kyung, "Don't ruin mom's day," as tensions rise between mother and daughter. Yoo Jae-myung attempts to console Seo Jun-kyung, saying, "If your mom and I live for another 20 years, we'll only have 40 more meals together. Visit often. Let's have meals with mom frequently."
Ultimately, Yoo Jae-myung's tears at Kim Mi-ran's bedside imply her passing. As Seo Jun-kyung returns home, she narrates, "I thought there would be a next time. A next time to gift a large bouquet, to sit side by side on the park lawn sharing a meal, to say 'Goodnight, mom'... I thought such ordinary next times were still ahead for us," expressing her longing for her mother.
