Tragedy and Ambition Unfold in MBC's 'The First Man': Oh Hyun-kyung's Character Faces Heartbreak and Dark Schemes
The episode opens with the tragic moment of Hwa-young's stillbirth, following the painful ordeal of childbirth. The devastating news from the doctor, "The fetus was already deceased," leaves Hwa-young in tears, pleading, "Save my son."
Hwa-young's meticulous plan quickly unfolds. Sook-hee, who was fired from her restaurant job, finds employment with a grandmother at a rural villa, unaware that this is part of Hwa-young's scheme to take her child. The villa's grandmother is in cahoots with Hwa-young, who chillingly instructs, "Your mission is to safely deliver the baby into my arms."
Meanwhile, Chairman Ma (played by Lee Hyo-jung) of Dream Group is convinced that Hwa-young's child is his grandchild and plans to make him the heir. Seizing the opportunity, Hwa-young fakes a pregnancy with a prosthetic belly, successfully deceiving the secretary sent by Chairman Ma. Kang-hyuk, driven by his misguided love, supports Hwa-young's deceit, saying, "If you're happy, then I'm happy."
In a tense climax, as Sook-hee gives birth in pain, Hwa-young, disguised as a nurse, enters the delivery room, ready to snatch the baby. However, she is caught off guard by the unexpected birth of twins, leaving her in shock as the episode concludes.
